Working in a foundation (stichting) needs determination, devotion and time-sacrificing. Many contacts, by different available legal means, have to be conducted to keep the work running. Mutual discussions as well as on site visits have to be performed to induce others to participate in any possible contribution according to availability.
Such activity requires a lot of administration, efforts and sometimes physical
work to bring donated materials. Mr. Henk Kral, St. MORI secretaries and accountant
has shown a lot of the mentioned activities.
St. MORI-activities include Para Medical, Medical/Ophthalmological and Clinical Optical service (and medication/glasses supplies upon availability) as well as Education in developing countries world-wide.
These activities are designed on world-wide scale taking the Netherlands as a base for action/function. Recently academic and scientific prospective developments have been included into St. MORI-activities. These prospective are within general objective of raising the eye welfare system in developing countries.
A new development in St. MORI activities is that St. MORI has contributed in international clinical and scientific events abroad via Dr. Hassan. Also St. MORI is open to volunteers to develop expertise and to cover possible future activities.
Sponsoring and material necessary to realise St. MORI-objectives have to be reached by applying to different resources locally and abroad.
St. MORI offers help and service to the needy on non-dominational, non-racial, non religious and non-political basis. In order to raise the standards of the health (eye) welfare system St. MORI-activities and St. MORI-objectives are open to individuals, institutions, foundations and other bodies of same/similar activities and objectives on well-designed legal approaches.
St. MORI creates an umbrella for collaboration, contacts, combined projects and work with other associations, organizations and clubs as well as other figures of similar goals both nationally and internationally. This can be achieved by realising mutual activities.
St. MORI-activities include Supportive-activities in the Netherlands and Executive-activities abroad. Many contacts in different legal ways with necessary resources which may be capable to support action and function have been done. St. MORI-projects designed on a year-basis with a possible extension to another period depending on success and resources availability.
a- In the NETHERLANDS :
Main Supportive-activities are to get resources for material and for sponsoring. Material includes second hand optical/ophthalmic equipments, frames old and new and reading glasses old and new.
Material has to be searched and collected on donation basis. Sponsoring (in addition to the already existing sponsoring scheme) means contacting potential resources by application and
appealing for financial support to cover prices of material as mentioned above if getting material is not possible on donation basis. Also travel expenses, locally and abroad, are important to be financially covered. All details of administration and financial reports can be given by Mr. Henk Kral.
St. MORI has got material from BOEKHOLT OPTIEK and Vrind Optiek in Groningen. The material has been sorted out by Dr. Hassan and sent to our project in Morocco. In addition to various types of contribution in St. MORI-activities, many advices and ideas have been made and suggested by Mr. A.F. Hansbroek (BOEKHOLT OPTIEK, Oog Merk Optiek), in Groningen, who has supported our projects financially as well as materially. Their significant contributions have made St. MORI-activities possible and the objectives achievable.
Also Mr. Hensbroek, BOEKHOLT OPTIEK, has made some glasses which have been sent to Moroccan patients. St. MORI, has got some diagnostic systems from Stichting Medic in Apeldoorn via Dr. Coen, H.C. Koppert, (speetlamp. trail lens set + frame, Ophthalmoscope and transformator) to support our project for Vision and visual assesment in Pre-School and Primary School children. A non-contact tonometer has been donated to our foundation from JUP optiek in Leewarden for the same project. For the purpose of collaboration, possible mutual work and technical as well as financial support St. MORI has contacted Mr. G. Oostrom, chief of technical department, Martini Hospital in Groningen, Mr. Arnold Kanen, Manager KANEN Interim, BUSINESS PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT in BERGEIJK, Stiel Vrijwillgerswerk in Groningen and Medical Workshop in Zeist. As Stichting MORI is well established, for more than TEN years, in Eye Care and Ophthalmo-Optics activities and services in developing countries published annually on hard copies, (annual reports : 1999/2000,2000,2001,2002,2003, 2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009) and on the internet, website : www.henkkral.nl/mori, St. MORI has been contacted, for an advice and experience exchange, by Mr. Thomas Hessels, from Amsterdam regarding their project to set up an Eye Clinic (OogKliniek) in Ghana and Mrs. Franka de Vilder, a masterstudent at Free University of Amsterdam, concerning her study : eindscriptie over particuliere ontwikkelingswerkzaamheden in Marokko. Also, St. MORI website has been seen by many visitors.
Mr. George de Jong, from Stichting Zienderogen in Jisp, has donated material and Technics to supported our project (Humanitarian Eye Service Unit (HESU) to serve Pre-School/Primary School children within a bigger prospective service project in Morocco.

The project is aiming at giving service to more than 700,000 population area, and Stichting Medics has been contacted St. MOR1 for collaboration. If this project comes to completion then there will be a chance to promote and start a similar project in Bosnia & Hercegovina.
Upon the invitation of n u v o issued by Mrs. Brigitte Wieman, Algemeen Secretaries (General Secretary), Dr. Hassan, presenting St. MORI, has attended the meeting/rondetafelgesprek on 'Goede doelen in de oogzorg' on Monday April 26, 2010 in Woerden. The meeting was a good chance for experience exchange in related field. St. MORI, now, is more open to accept volunteers to cover parts of its growing developing activities in a hope to achieve better performance. Contacts have made with Mrs. Van Doren from " Stichting Stiel" in Groningen for this purpose.
St. MORI has some contacts with Prof. Dr. A.C. KOOIJMAN, from the University of Groningen, Department of Experimental Ophthalmology, U M C G. Contacts are based on Scientific and Academic collaboration to promote Neuro-Ophthalmology project in developing countries utilizing Ophthalmic Electro-Diagnosis Techniques. St. MORI has been recognized and registered in the scheme of COS-Groningen to discuss possible aspects and future of foundation works and activities both nationally and internationally.

b- ABROAD:
Main Executive-activities are abroad since St. MORI is designed on world-wide basis. St. MORI has contacted officials in JAJICA CITY in Bosnia & Hercegovina to reactivate Humanitarian Eye Service Unit "HESU". The concept is under negotiation.
For the purpose of dynamic and fruitful activities St. MORI presented by Dr. Hassan has active collaboration with Vision Foundation for Eve Care and Ophthalmo-Optics "VFECOO" a Moroccan foundation located at Temara/Rabat founded in 2009. For the period January 2010 till end November 2010 more than 1000 patients have seen by Dr. Hassan. It is a significant start. Some contacts have been made with the Ministry in Rabat and the Dutch Embassy/Development department, in Rabat for possible mutual collaboration to support St. MORI project. St. MORI has some contact in Legos, Nigeria for this purpose Dr. Hassan has met Mr. Damian to seek possibilities for collaboration and mutual work.
c- ACADEMIC and SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION :
As St. MORI has been included in the Vision 2020 Matrix/Scheme and in continuation
in the international program of prevention of blindness, Dr. Hassan has spent sometime at the "HOPITAL DES SPECIALITIES" in Rabat, Morocco. This has led to promote and start an Electro-Ophthalmology Unit (E.O.U.) at the department of Ophthalmology-B, head of the department; Prof. A. Berahho, the University Medical Centre, C.H.U., in Rabat. Many lectures and presentation related to techniques, methods and handling procedures of required tests performed by the system have been conducted.
Dr. Hassan has visited Prof Jose Garcia Kampos at the University Hospital in Malaga in Spain to discuss mutual work in setting an Electro-Ophthalmology Unit (E.O.U.) at the department of Ophthalmology and possible support to St. MORI project/activities in Morocco. A meeting has been conducted for this purpose.
These types of collaboration needs the contribution of different bodies/institutions working in the field. This may include financial, social, technical and medical supports.

CONCLUSIONS!
***1. THERE ARE MANY ASPECTS TO ACHIEVE St. MORI OBJECTIVES.
***2. St. MORI-ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN APPRECIATED AND RECOGNISED LOCALLY AND ABROAD VIA RECOGNITION AND REGISTRATION.
***3. St. MORI-OBJECT1VES ARE OPEN TO COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS OF SAME AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES( e.g. collaboration with Vision Foundation for Eye Care and Ophthalmo-Optics).
***4. St. MORI IS MORE OPEN TO ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP COVERING POSSIBLE FUTURE ACTIVITIES LOCALLY AND ABROAD.
***5. St. MORI HAS ENTERED ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES VIA CONTRIBUTIONS AND CONTACTS AT HIGH SCIENTIFIC/ACADEMIC LEVELS.
***6. TO ACHIEVE FRUITFUL COLLABORATION FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS NECESSARY. RESOURCES FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT MUST BE FOUND. A SELF-RUNNING PROJECTS MIGHT BE A REASONABLE SOLUTION. MINIMAL SERVICE PAID FEES COULD HELP IN FRUITFUL ACHIEVEMENT.
